Photo of the Month (March 2025 Edition): Secret about a secret
“A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know.”
Diane Arbus

Althoug this quote is somewhat dubious, it tells a lot about my photography advances (or not) in February. I struggled hard to have a chance to photograph last month, which made me think if it was worth trying to find a picture to publish.
Indeed, I wanted to write about a project in which I will include the photos I took. But taking a closer look at the material I have now, I think it does not reflect the story I wanted to tell. So, I decided going for the abstract, the unknown, unresolved, unsharp, the mysterious… the secret. The secret about the secret. Something that I realised I don’t know enough to write about.
PS: a big thank you to Walter Carvalho, who mentioned Arbus’s quote in a talk last Friday and inspired me to publish the photo of this month.
